LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Governor Mike Beebe and higher education officials gathered with students at Little Rock's Hall High Monday to kick off the 5th annual Say Go College Week.

The event was created to raise awareness of the value of a post-secondary education, and more than 300 high schools throughout the state will participate in Say Go College week.

Governor Beebe said going to college shouldn't be a mystery but a possibility.

"It's a big step for me, but I'm ready to achieve it think I can achieve it," exclaimed senior Javon Miller

Miller's advised to fellow peers to stay focused.

Say Go College week will conclude Sunday at Hall High with 30 college representatives available to help assist students and their families in filling out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to help receive financial assistance to pay for school.
