NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- THV 11's Craig O'Neill sits down with Ray Rodgers, director of ArkansasGolden Gloves, to talk about the latest tournament coming to the NaturalState this weekend.

On Friday, March 8 and Saturday, 9 athletes from across the state will have a chance to compete in the 70th Annual Arkansas Golden Gloves State Championship Tournament. This tournament features student athletes from gyms in 20 different Arkansas cities who qualified at specific events prior to this tournament.

The state championship will be held at the North Little Rock Community Center located at 2700 Willow St. Bouts start at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students.

The champions from this tournament will advance to the Mid-South Golden Gloves Tournament. That tournament will also be held in North Little Rock at the Community Center April 11 - 13. Champions from West Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas will compete.
