NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A North Little Rock businessman is attempting to track down his stolen iPad using photos taken by the woman who has his device.
A series ofself portraits are among the numerous photos streaming onto Allen Engstram's iPhone.
After losing his iPad on a flight from Phoenix to Denver, he feared he'd never see the expensive tablet again.
Until, Engstram said, his son Mason gotan interestingpicture on his Apple device.
"He said mommy, who's this? And of course she said, I have no idea who that is. It showed up on my phone too," explained Engstram."After a while we figured out what was going on. That's the person that has my iPad."
Engstram said the photo stream between his Apple devices and the one missing are leaving behind a trail of evidence.
"It's been a continuing fountain of entertainment for me. It's just like I'll wake up one day and they'll be new pictures there and I'm like oh my gosh, she has no idea."
With one snap, various displays of facial expressions continue to taunt Engstram
Now, Engstram ishoping to track down whoever made off with his tablet.
"I have no problem with putting it on facebook, because hey, it's fun for me and it's apparently fun for a lot of other people and there's always the chance that someone will say hey, I know who that is," Engstram said."And I want my iPad back."
Using the power of social media, Engstram'sstory, along with the woman'spictures, have gone viral on the internet.
"Yeah, this is someone in Phoenix sharing it, and the list goes on and on and on."
He's even been able to figure out her instagram username.
Unfortunately, Engstram disabled the iPad's locator settings.
But, with the amount of attention this story is receiving, Engstramsaid he'soptimistic he may see his tablet once again.
"It's pretty crazy how quickly it's spread when it goes viral. I've never had anything like that happen before."
Engstram has not filed an official police report yet, but with the amount evidence piling up, he thinks that would be an appropriate step.
Engstram's name and contact infois etchedinto the back ofhis iPad, so Engstram says whoever does have his tablet, knows it's not theirs.
