(KTHV) UNDATED -- At THV 11, we're always looking to make your life easier. With it being Friday, we've once again found five things for you to do with the family this weekend.
#1.Cruisin' in the Rock -- The first event of 2013 is tonight in Little Rock's River Market District and Riverfront Park. There will be great music, dozens of awesome cars, trucks and motorcycles andeven some door prizes. It runs from 6 p.m.to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
#2.SEC Gymnastics Championship -- Get ready to cheer on the Razorbacks. The Number 16 U of A team will be in North Little Rock Saturday to compete in the 2013 SEC Gymnastics Championships as the sixth-seeded team. The event starts at 2 p.m. at Verizon arena. Ticket prices range from $8 -16. In addition to Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU and Missouri will participate in the meet.
#3. Easter Egg Hunt -- The family fun is at theClinton Presidential Center Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. This giant Easter egg hunt features eco-friendly eggs-tens of thousands of them-hidden on the lawn of the Park. Children also can win prizes, and participate in games and activities at the 8th annual event. The eggs are made of 100 percent renewable material.
#4. Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial-- For those who answered the call but did not return to their families, the state of Arkansas is eternally grateful. After 10 plus years of fundraising and hard work, there will be a groundbreaking for the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial on the west side of the State Capitol Grounds at 2 p.m. Saturday. The $1.3 million project includes a statue depicting firefighters on a scene, which has already been built.
#5.Kite Flying Competition -- The sky isthe limit!You can test your kite flying skills in a competition on Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m.to 3 p.m. atPinnacle Mountain State Park. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in different categories such as the highest flying kite. The event is free.
