JONESBORO, Ark. (ASU) - Arkansas State University's Kristina Aubert has been tabbed as this week's (March 27) Sun Belt Conference (SBC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office.

Aubert, a junior, was the top finisher in the 5,000 meters at the Red Wolves' season-opening LSU Relays this past weekend (March 22-23) as she registered a first-place 16:54.51 time. Aubert's performance currently represents the best outdoor time in the Sun Belt Conference this season and is fifth best in the West Region.

A 2012 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA-I All-Region selection and first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honoree in cross country, Aubert achieved SBC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week accolades (Oct. 3) this past fall.

Aubert is the first ASU student-athlete to earn weekly conference outdoor track honors this spring following the first two weeks of league selections.

Both the Red Wolves' men's and women's teams will be making their first-ever appearance in the UCA (University of Central Arkansas) Open this weekend (March 29-30) at Conway, Ark.
