Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Red Wings have snagged highly-touted free agent defenseman Danny DeKeyser.

TSN of Canada reported the news on Friday, that the 23-year-old, who just finished his junior season with Western Michigan, decided to sign with Detroit after garnering intense interest from a number of NHL teams, including Anaheim, Edmonton, St. Louis and Philadelphia.

DeKeyser totaled two goals and 15 points in 35 games this past season, and departs college with 12 goals and 49 points in 138 appearances for the Broncos.
