LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- It was all fun and games at Arkansas Children's Hospital Thursday morning as former globetrotter and current Representative Fred Smith, G - Crittenden, visited the kids.
Representative Smith signed basketballs for the kids and even taught a few tricks to some. He also explained the importance of combining education with athletics.
"To try and increase their academics, reinforcing them after school, keeping the kids off the streets, and while I'm back in the House, I want to continue to show not just my legislature friends but my constituents that this is what I love to do," he said.
Every child at the meet and greet got a signed basketball. A few other legislators joined Representative Smith for the visit with the kids.
