Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Richard Bachman posted 31 saves on Saturday to lead the Dallas Stars in a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks.
Dallas now has 45 points and sits in the eighth spot in the Western Conference. Detroit also has 45 points, but Dallas holds the tiebreaker and both teams have seven games left on the schedule.
Alex Chiasson and Eric Nystrom scored for the Stars, who have won five straight during their push to get into the playoffs.
Brent Burns had the lone goal for the Sharks, who have dropped three of their last four. Antti Niemi gave up both goals on 19 shots in the loss.
San Jose remains in the fifth spot in the Western Conference, one point head of idle St. Louis.
