SEARCY, Ark. (HARDING) - Harding sophomore Ewa Zaborowska and senior Kristen Celsor received Lone Star Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic Team honors Monday. Zaborowska was named LSC Women's Track and Field Academic Athlete of the Year.
To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 grade point average and have reached sophomore status both athletically and academically. The Academic Player of Year award and All-Academic Team are selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league's sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement.
Zaborowska, a distance runner from Wejherowo, Poland, has the top time in the conference in the 1,500 meters (4:26.24) and ranks second in the 800 meters (2:10.00). She was also the LSC's Indoor Track and Field Academic Athlete of the Year. Zaborowska is an accounting major with a 4.00 grade point average.
Celsor, a high jumper from Searcy, Ark., has the top high jump mark in the conference. She cleared 5 feet, 8 inches at the Bison Invitational. Celsor is a communication science and disorders major with a 3.88 grade point average.
Zaborowska, Celsor and the Lady Bisons will be in competition this weekend at the LSC Outdoor Championship in Canyon, Texas.
