UNDATED (CNN) -- Tom Cruise says he has a new mission and Steve Carell might be headed back to the small screen; it's the latest news today's Hollywood Minute.
Tom Cruise has signed on for a fifth Mission Impossible movie. The 50-year-old actor took to Twitter to announce the news, saying "Cue the theme song, Ethan Hunt has chosen to accept the mission. M.I. five is confirmed."
The last film in the series, Ghost Protocol, earned almost $700 million around the world. Fans will still have to wait to find out when the new movie hits theaters.
Special effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen has died at the age of 92. An expert of stop-motion effects, Harry Hausen was known for his work in sci-fi movies including "Clash of the Titans" and "Mighty Joe Young."
The special effects master was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003.
Steve Carell could be headed back to "The Office." Carell's character Michael Scott is rumored to appear on the NBC comedy's series finale.
"The Office" will sign off after nine seasons on May 16 two seasons after Carell left the show. The show's creator Greg Daniels did not directly answer questions about the rumors when asked by reporters last week.
