LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Farmers Market at the River Market is not just about fresh fruits and vegetables. It's also about something else -- homegrown talent.
Since 1996, local farmers have brought produce into the downtown market to put up for sale. But in 2004, an entertainer joined them; on Tuesdays and Saturdays, Fred Robinson stood on his box and mimed.
He was a 1981 graduate of Jacksonville High School and a dancer, but it was at the River Market that he developed a street talent that people who saw him still remember.
Then in 2009, Fred picked up his box, after saving his tips, and moved to Hollywood. The talent he developed at the River Market was quickly put to use at the Hollywood Wax Museum. He is the first performer tourists see when they enter the popular attraction. In the process, he has become a popular attraction. Now he's working the magic, and continuing to dream big.
