LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A child has been taken to an area hospital following a dog attack that happened Thursday afternoon.
Little Rock Police Dept. Sgt. Cassandra Davis said multiple dogs bit a 12-year-old child. The incident happened nearIzard St.and 20th Avenueas the child was on his way home from school.
Officer Dawana Phillips said a man had eight dogs that got out of his fenced backyard; as many as four ofthem attacked the child. Theprimary dog attacking the child was a chow mix, which police shot.
The child has puncture wounds on his arms and legs but the injuries are not life-threatening. All eight dogs are in Little Rock Animal Services custody.
Details of what led tothe attack are not known at this time. No charges have been filed, but police continue investigating the case.
