LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 25, 2013) - Riverfest is not just for the adults. Kids of all ages can enjoy face painting, arts and crafts, live entertainment and more at the Deltic Timber KidZone area.
The KidZone Playtime Promenade presented by Deltic Timber is located along the banks of the Arkansas River near the Peabody Playground & Water Park in the central area of Julius Brecking Riverfront Park.
The kids will have a great time strolling along the Riverwalk Promenade, which will feature lots of hands on activities, exciting games, creative crafts and more.
Visit the Deltic Timber KidZone Craft area located in the Ozark Pavilion and enjoy the "nature" theme for this year. Kids of all ages can make a butterfly finger puppet, a cool paper bag tree, and beautiful paper cup flowers.
Beat a drum with Bongo Willie, dress up like a fireman at the Little Rock Fire Department tent, and enjoy hands on activities provided by the Museum of Discovery. Have fun with the Bean Bag Toss, Bubble Blowing, and Chalk It Up Art. Play in the sand, enjoy hula hoop fun, then cool off and splash around in the spray pad.
If that's not enough, for the adventurous kid (or kid at heart), scale 20 feet into the air on the Rock Climbing Wall and soar to 25 foot heights as you somersault and flip safely attached to bungee cords on the Quad Jump.
The KidZone Stage will host plenty of acts, including the four-member band REAL entertaining. THV 11's Melissa Dunbar-Gates spoke to the four young sisters who make up this group.
While in the Kids area, safety is a priority. Be sure and stop by the Tag-A-Child Tent sponsored by the Office of Attorney General Dustin McDaniel. Riverfest and the Attorney General's Office support child safety through this program. At the tent have your child registered and tagged so Riverfest security officers and officials can help reunite lost children with their parents or guardians in record time.
