MAYFLOWER, Ark. (KTHV) - Justmore thantwo months since the March 29th ExxonMobil oil spill in Mayflower, the Mayflower Unified Command released photos of the area before and after cleanup of the event.
The Command includes the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, Faulkner County, the City of Mayflower and ExxonMobil.
The Unified Command has determined, after inspections, that enough progress has been achieved in the marsh and cove areas to shift from emergency response to the more focused efforts of remediation.
The section of Interstate Drive adjacent to the marsh work site has been restored to two-way traffic.
