LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- No matter what the question, no one can stump Dr. T. Glenn Pait with UAMS. He's cracking open up his medical mailbag to answer your questions.
These are the questions he covered:
-A friend was told by her doctor she had a low blood level of Vitamin D. She was experiencing grogginess during the day. Her doctor said low Vitamin D could cause her to be sleepy. I too have problems with sleepiness in the daytime. Do you think I could have a low Vitamin D level too?
-I take a coated aspirin every day for the prevention of heart attacks. I recently changed healthcare providers and she told me I didn't have to worry about taking the coated aspirin and suggested I just take the regular aspirin. I'm skeptical; that's why I'm asking you.
-My college daughter tells me she's going to start eating insects. I think it's a craze. Is it safe to eat insects? I don't want her to get sick.
-I have been using nicotine gum now for about a year. Is it safe to continue to use the nicotine gum?
-Several of my friends and I are risk for heart attack. We all carry aspirin in our pockets. I carry my aspirin wrapped in tin foil. Do you know of any other ways you can safely carry aspirin with you?
-My husband has been taking cholesterol-lowering medications, his cholesterol was too high. Ever since he started the Zocor he states he doesn't feel like he's able to exercise the way he did. Can the medication affect his ability to exercise?
