CONWAY, Ark. _ Three University of Central Arkansas Bears were named preseason All-Americans by The Sports Network on Monday.
Senior safety Jestin Love was a second-team All-America selection, while senior quarterback Wynrick Smothers and sophomore defensive end Jonathan Woodard were named to the third team.
Love, a first-team All-Southland Conference safety in 2012 and the SLC Freshman of the year in 2010, will lead an experienced UCA secondary in 2013. Love was UCA's No. 2 tackler last season with 91 stops.
Smothers, from Destrehan, La., was the SLC Offensive Player of the Year last season, passing for more than 3,000 yards and adding 449 rushing yards. Smothers threw 31 touchdown passes and rushed for four more.
Woodard, from Brentwood, Tenn., was the SLC Freshman of the Year after recording 36 tackles, seven sacks, 11 tackles for loss and three fumble recoveries.
UCA advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division I playoffs for the second consecutive year last season.
