LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (UCA) - On "THV 11 News at Noon", we had members from a UCA Team competing overseas in hopes of getting their invention recognized at this year's IMAGINE Cup.
The team calledTeam Bears Unlimited will be competing at the IMAGINE Cup, which is sponsored by Microsoft and held in St. Petersburg, Russia in July. Only one other team from the United States earned a spot in the 2013 competition.
They developed the Bear Claw System. This is a glove outfitted with sensors to assist physical and occupational therapy patients at the hand, wrist, and forearm. The system uses a motion glove that communicates through a connected Windows smart phone. Here is a link to the Imagine Cup's website where you can see the team profile and images of their product design.
If they win, the team will earn a $50,000 prize. More importantly, the Bear Claw System could potentially help thousands of physical and occupational therapy patients.
Team members John White and R. Kyle Eichelberger joined THV's Stefanie Bryant and Tom Brannon to talk about their invention and what to expect at this year's conference.
