JESSIEVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - If you mention the name Dan Roberson in the Garland County town of Jessieville, the odds are that people know him. Right now they're praying for his safe return after he disappeared earlier this week.

Dan Roberson is a 71-year-old widower who lives in Jessieville with his daughter. Right now, the Garland County Sheriff's Office doesn't believe foul play is involved, but that still doesn't make things any easier for friends and neighbors. They remain worried about a man who is diabetic and doesn't have his medicine.

Pastor Jimmy Scott showed THV 11 around Dan Roberson's tomato plants at his Jessieville home. They are one of many things Roberson is known for but never for disappearing and not saying a word.

"Everybody is just worried about it, they're worried about it because he loved everybody and everybody loved him," Pastor Scott said.

Pastor Scott said that Roberson was last seen at his home watering his tomato plants on Tuesday morning around 9 a.m. He said one sign that something was wrong was that Roberson had not put away his hose like he always does.

"That's way unusual. He would have put it up. He would have put it up," Pastor Scott said.
"For him to disappear and not come back, that is just not Dan," Neighbor Ashleigh Sales said.

Sales added that she's been out searching for Roberson along with the community, and as the days goes on with no sighting, it's hard to think about her 71-year-old, diabetic neighbor.

"It worries me, you know with the heat, not having anything to eat possibly, just the possibilities of it scare you," Sales said.

Several folks stopped by Thursday to check in at Roberson's home. Pastor Scott is there, spending time to support his family.

"We're just praying and hoping that Lord will guide us to something," Pastor Scott said.

It's prayers for a safe return home and to Roberson's beloved tomato plants.

"Seems like I could just see him putting the water to them," Pastor Scott said.

Those people that THV 11 talked to in Roberson's neighborhood said that they have no idea where Roberson may be because they've searched many of the places he often goes to. The sheriff's office said it has deputies out hunting down leads but nothing solid yet.

Roberson is 6 feet, two inches and weighs around 225 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He also has a possible scar on the right side of his face. He was last seen wearing a blue button-up Dickies shirt and blue jeans. He may be in a silver 2012 Chevy SK1 that has a chrome toolbox with Arkansas license plate 567 JPY.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Garland County Sheriff's Office at (501) 545-3187.
