LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The grandson of the former owner of Willow Springs Water Park said he hopes the park will reopen.

"That's where I learned how to do everything I know," said Kris Taylor.

Friday, the Arkansas Department of Health confirmed that samples pulled from the park contain Meningitis. A 12-year-old girl is fighting for her life in a Little Rock hospital after she allegedly swam at the park.

Thursday the current park owner, David Ratliff, assured THV 11 News the water was safe.

"Our chlorine is supposed to kill it. Our results of our chlorine tests were really, really good," said Ratliff.

Meanwhile, neighbors like Taylor, hope to one day swim again at Willow Springs.

"I really wish it would open back up. I mean soon as possible, and I'd do anything I can do to help," said Taylor.
