BATESVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Fort Collins, Colo.-based Zila Inc. says it will lay off 60 of its 130 employees at its manufacturing plant in Batesville in northeastern Arkansas.
Zila's website says the company produces oral care and cancer screening products that are sold to dental professionals.
The layoffs at the Batesville plant are to begin Oct. 1 and be complete by the end of the year.
Zila Chief Executive Officer David Speights told The Batesville Daily Guard that the company's strategy has not been profitable and it must develop a new business strategy in order to build a long-term, stable company.
