NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Leaders in North Little Rock are considering the downtown area to house the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.

Chamber of Commerce President Terry Hartwick said the center, which is currently located at the Verizon Arena, would be located at Maple and Broadway Streets. He said the new location between Verizon Arena and Dickey-Stephens Park would bring new developments to the North Little Rock area.

"I think it would be a neat, neat thing," said Terry Hartwick with the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce. "Not only that, but to the hotels and the restaurants (would benefit) on both sides of the river."

Hartwick said the project is still in the planning stages, but would cost at least $6.5 million dollars.
