PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) - Arkansas State Police has declined a request to investigate the shooting death of a 107-year-old man that happened over the weekend in Pine Bluff.
Bill Sadler with ASP said Thursday that prosecuting attorney Kyle Hunter requested state police to look into the "totality of all circumstances" surrounding a shootout with S.W.A.T. that killed Monroe Isadore.
Sadler saidstate police returned Hunter's request on Wednesday, stating that the department declined the request to investigate.
An explanation or reasoning for the decline has not been provided.
On Thursday, Hunter asked to be allowed to recuse himself from the case. Judge Berlin Jones approved his request and appointed Bob McMahan to seek and recommend a prosecutor to take on the case.
McMahan said it will be at least a day or two before he can make a recommendation.
The Brown Funeral Home in Pine Bluff said visitation for Isadore will be held Fri., Sept. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m., and the funeral is the following day at 3 p.m. Both events will be held at the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff at 900 South Grant Street.
