Conway, Ark. (UCA) - The Central Arkansas men's soccer team was in action at the Bill Stephens Soccer Complex for the first time in over a month on Saturday, facing off against Bradley in a Missouri Valley match. The Bears and the Braves played a tight match, tying 1-1.

Central Arkansas and Bradley played a pair of thrillers at the end of last season, playing to a 1-1 draw on the final day of the season. The two clubs squared off again just four days later, with the Bears getting the 1-0 victory in the first round of the MVC Tournament. Saturday's match provided more of the same.

Bradley went up 1-0 in the 12th minute, as Christian Okeke lofted a cross into the Central Arkansas box, where it was collected by Wojciech Wojcikj, who put it into the back of the net. The Bears were unable to find an answer until the 65th minute when Wes Carson fielded a pass from Jaden Hoth, turned, and fired the ball off the left post and into the net. Neither team was able to gain an advantage throughout the rest of regulation and each overtime period.

Carson led the Bears offensively, placing three of his four shots on target. Logan Miller was on target on two of his four shots. Wojcik was on target with both of his shots to lead the Bradley offense, as was Jason Lesch. Patxi Shortsleeve made four saves and allowed one goal in net for Central Arkansas, a line equaled by Brian Billings for Bradley.

Central Arkansas returns to action on Wednesday, hitting the road for Memphis to play the University of Memphis. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.
