LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Little Rock Zoo has two new elephants.

The elephants, named Sophie and Babe, arrived in central Arkansas on Monday. They came from the Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley, Ill.

Officials in Little Rock say the elephants traveled overnight and were unloaded into the elephant barn in Little Rock.

Babe is 38, and Sophie is 44. They're both former Ringling circus elephants. Babe was donated to the Niabi Zoo in 2000, and Sophie was donated to the zoo in 2003.

They came to Little Rock after the Niabi Zoo announced that it would end its elephant program and look for a new home for Sophie and Babe.
