MADISON COUNTY, Ark. (5NEWS) -- THV11 affiliate 5News in northwest Arkansas reports that authorities have called off a ground search for the night for a plane believed to have crashed in Madison County Monday afternoon.

5News reports that emergency crews and law enforcement searched for the plane crash site for several hours Monday, but didn't find anything. It all started when a single-engine plane operator notified air-traffic control that the plane was experiencing problems. 5News reports that the operator never checked back with air traffic controllers after that.
