CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - It has been one year since a Conway roller rink owner was found shot and killed inside his home. Now the case has gone cold with no leads, no arrests and little hope for Larry Billings' family. Three of his children sat down with THV11 to talk about the last year.
"Who would do such a thing? Why would they do that?," wonders daughterKristen Racanelli. "It just didn't seem real."
"I just don't understand," says Alicia Page.
One year later, Michael, Alicia, and Kristen are still left wondering who killed their father.
"Racking your brain trying to ask fifty million questions that you know the officers must be asking too already. Try to solve it yourself. Mostly anger (is what I feel)," says Alicia.
Billings, the owner of the Conway Roller Rink was found shot to death on Oct. 29, 2012 inside his own home. His truck was parked at a grocery store in west Little Rock.
"They didn't give him a chance to ask why. They didn't give him a chance to plead for his life," Alicia explained."They didn't give him a chance to apologize for whatever he did to make them feel like this is what they needed to do. Nothing. Just (shot in the)back of the head, a coward's way of doing it."
"It's a constant struggle to go about your day knowing, like she said that that person is out there and our dad isn't here," says Kristen.
They've set up a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of their father's killer. Even with few leads and no arrests, his children still have hope.
"Somebody is going to slip up somewhere and either turn on the other or somebody is going to hear something. It's just gotta happen. You can't hide something that big forever," says Alicia.
"I just want to know why. Why you felt this is what you had to do. Why did you have to take him from us?" says Kristen.
Authorities said, as of mid-October 2013, there are no new leads in the case. While the family continues to mourn, Billing's children and his wife are in a legal battle for his estate.
