FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Univ. of Ark.) - University of Arkansas junior Susanna White was named SEC Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday. The award followed an excellent performance by the Forest, Va., native at Missouri State on Nov. 9. White contributed to four event wins and two pool records in Springfield, Mo., to help Arkansas earn its fourth dual-meet victory of the season. White was also the most recent Arkansas swimmer to receive the honor on Jan. 22.

"Susanna has been working hard since we arrived on campus this semester," head coach Sean Schimmel said. "She has a great work ethic and is an example of someone who walks the talk. Even though it is still early in the season, her hard work, her commitment to this team and being successful has started to show up."

White's time of 51.25 in the 100 freestyle set a pool record at the Hammons Student Center, previously set by Missouri State's Amber Green in 2011. White also tied for first place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.79.

During the 200 freestyle relay, White contributed a split time of 23.62 and the team recorded a total time of 1:34.33, breaking another pool record at HSC by 1.95 seconds. The previous pool record of 1:36.28 was set in 2006 by Southern Illinois.

To open Arkansas' dual meet at Missouri State, White swam a split of 24.80 seconds to help the Razorbacks win the 200-yard medley relay with a total time of 1:43.24. White has helped the Razorbacks win this relay each of the four times Arkansas has participated in the event this season.

White has contributed to four event wins in three of Arkansas' four dual meets this semester.

Arkansas will travel to Columbia, Mo., on Nov. 21 to participate in the Missouri Invitational. The three-day invite will be the team's last competition of the fall semester.
