LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A student in the Little Rock School District says a random act of kindness inspired her recent perfect score on the ACT college exam.
Deborah Rookey is a student at Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School. When she went to take the ACT test last month, she stopped to get a cup of coffee on the way there.
As she pulled through the drive-through, the clerk told her that the person ahead of her had paid for her drink. Rookey went on and aced the ACT, getting a perfect score of 36.
She says she wants to thank the stranger for the random of act of kindness because it helped put her "in the right frame of mind to perform my very best."
