MOBILE, Ala. (A-State) - The GoDaddy Bowl announced today that Arkansas State has accepted an invitation to play a team from the Mid-American Conference in the 15th annual GoDaddy Bowl game on Sun., Jan. 5, 2013, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game will be televised nationally at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN.

Arkansas State has ensured a second place finish in the Sun Belt Conference with a possible share of the Sun Belt Conference championship for the third consecutive year. Led by head coach, Bryan Harsin, Arkansas State kicked off their 99th season of football on August 31, 2013.

The Red Wolves come back to the GoDaddy Bowl for an unprecedented third consecutive time. In 2012, Northern Illinois of the Mid-American Conference defeated Arkansas State 38 - 20. The next year, Arkansas State returned, defeating Mid-American Conference member Kent State, 17 - 13.

"We're happy to welcome back Arkansas State for a third consecutive year. They've proven they are a tough, competitive team, they bring a great crowd to Mobile and we're happy to have them back," said GoDaddy Bowl President, Jerry Silverstein.

"Head Coach Bryan Harsin and the Red Wolves have had a great year and are very deserving of this bid to the GoDaddy Bowl," said Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Karl Benson. "The Red Wolves are great representatives of the Sun Belt Conference and they have shown that in their two previous trips to the GoDaddy Bowl."

Teams are slated to arrive in Mobile on Wednesday, January 1. As usual, the GoDaddy Bowl will feature a week of activities before the game itself. The GoDaddy Bowl Mayor's Luncheon will feature guest speaker NFL 3-time MVP Brett Favre on Friday, January 3, and the Greer's - Mardi Gras Parade, Pep Rally, Spectronics Fireworks Show and Street Party all held on Saturday, January 4.
