LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Arkansas State Red Wolves fans took to the state capitol steps to celebrate the team headed to a bowl game.

Gov. Mike Beebe, an ASU alum, participated in the rally along with the band and cheerleaders ahead of the Red Wolves heading to the Bowl in Mobile, Alabama January 5th.

This marks the third-straight year the Red Wolves will go to the Go-Daddy Bowl, but this year is different as they are without head coach Bryan Harsin. He recently resigned and took the head coach job at Boise State.

Defensive coordinator John Thompson has been named the Red Wolves' interim head coach.
