PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - The man at the center of the controversy over the state's parole system was in court on Tuesday asking for new lawyers.

Darrell Dennis is on trial for capital murder, kidnapping and robbery. He was accused of killing an 18-year-old in May, just hours after his release from a Pulaski County jail.

Dennis said the public defenders assigned to him represented him before.

Dennis will not face the death penalty if convicted.
