JONESBORO, Ark. (A-State) - The Arkansas State baseball team and supporters will gather to celebrate the upcoming season at the 2014 Grand Slam Fan Fest Tuesday, Feb. 11th at the Convocation Center on the campus of Arkansas State University.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with an open silent auction, Red Wolves meet-and-greet where fans can get signed photos, welcome new team members and reconnect with veteran A-State players. Activities and other contests will also be setup throughout the Convocation Center for those in attendance to test their baseball skills.
This year's event will feature a special team introduction, followed by a catered meal and the start of the night's program, which will feature a special recognition of former Arkansas State baseball player Jim Callaway, who played baseball at the University in the 1960s and was a two-time NCAA District VI All-Region selection and three-time All-Southland Conference pick.
The baseball program will also award the "John Knight Baseball Managers Scholarship" followed by the start of the live auction. Following the auction, fans will have an opportunity to interact with current A-State minor league baseball players. Opportunities to purchase select A-State baseball apparel will and other activities will take place throughout the night.
Several ticket options are available. Grand Slam tables are $500 for eight seats or fans have the option of bringing seven guests and have a current A-State baseball player sit at their table. Tickets for students and youth start at $25, and individual/adult tickets are $75. For the second year, group and team rates are available with special pricing of $10 for players and $50 for adults.
