LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock magnet schools are focusing on recruiting more students. The annual Magnet Fair shows parents the advantages of sending their children to a magnet school.
Gibbs Magnet School of Little Rock is unique because it targets foreign languages and international studies. The students at Gibbs practice foreign languages every day, including German, French and Spanish. But, the commitment to the intense learning wouldn't be possible without the dedication of the teachers.
"The teachers are committed to the implementation of our school-wide themes which makes learning come alive for our children, and also our teachers go above and beyond to do what is required to meet the academic performance of all of our children," explained Dr. Felicia Hobbs, principal of Gibbs Magnet School.
Today's event featured bands, skits, mimes and even a service project to benefit families involved the Sandy Hook shooting.
