CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - Just when we thought we were in the clear, Old Man Winter returns again.
"I hate the cold weather," one Conway resident said, but others can appreciate the positive in a bone-chilling situation.
"Well it's nice to have the moisture because we were under burn bans, but it is winter still," Marlin Partney added.
The weather seems to be having a difficult time making its mind up.
"That's how you catch a cold or a flu," Oliver Mitchell suggested.
With temperatures reaching a high of 64 on Saturday, many Arkansans were surprised to wake up to a scene like this. In Conway, cold rain fell and in Fort Smith, it was snow that soon turned into ice.
"You know it's so unpredictable now with climate change that we don't really know what to expect," Sandra Leyva explained. Leyva works with the urban farm project in Conway, and she believes planning for the upcoming work week will be a bit tricky. "We really don't know what to expect--if we're going to be able to start working or if the grounds going to be frozen."
Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog, is predicting six more weeks of winter, but many Arkansans are ready for this season to end.
"The winter weather? You can keep it!" concluded Carl Montague.
