Murray, Kent. (UCA) - The Central Arkansas women's team was back in action on Sunday, facing off against Tennessee-Martin on a neutral court in Murray, Kentucky. The Bears grabbed a point in doubles play before securing the win by defeating the Skyhawks in four of the six singles matches to earn a 5-2 victory and improve to 2-2 on the season.

Central Arkansas won both the nos. 1 and 2 doubles matches, as Kelsey Williams and Allison Murphy defeated Katie McCall and Sarah Candeloro 8-6, and Cassidy Crawford and Kristina Horsikyan defeated Hitomi Naito and Ivon Simic 8-2. UT-Martin (0-2) won the no. 3 doubles match 8-7, as Burcu Tari and Jessica Silva took down Sasha Ruocco and Krizia Buck.

In singles play, Simona Horsikyan defeated Simic 6-3, 6-4 in the no. 1 match. Naito countered for UTM in the no. 2 match, taking down Crawford 6-1, 6-4. Williams earned the Bears another point in the no. 3 match, defeating Candeloro 7-5, 6-2. Tari got the Skyhawks their final point of the day in the no. 4 match, taking down Kristina Horsikyan 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Central Arkansas won the final two singles matches, as Ruocco took the no. 5 match 7-5, 6-2 over Silva, and Buck scored a 6-1, 6-1 victory over McCall in the no. 6 match.

The Bears return to the court with three matches this week. On Tuesday, the Bears will play host to Arkansas-Fort Smith at 12:30. Central Arkansas will play a pair of matches in Grambling, Louisiana on Saturday, battling Alcorn State at 9:00 a.m. and Grambling State at 2:00 p.m.
