LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Two families deal with losses after a prank gone wrong over the weekend in Little Rock.
As of Monday afternoon, police had not released the body of 15-year-old Adrian Broadway. The family is in the process of making funeral arrangements. Police arrested Willie Noble for the shooting.
THV 11 learned Monday that Noble does not have a previous record in Pulaski County.
"It could have been anybody, but it shouldn't have been anyone. It just shouldn't have been her," said Derricka Garrett, a friend of Broadway.
This was supposed to be a prank, egging a friend's car, but it escalated to much more. After the gunshots rang out late Friday night, Garrett thought Broadway would make it through.
"She was there she was breathing," said Garrett.
Little Rock Police arrested and charged Willie Noble with first degree murder, but even adults close to the situation, although dealing with the loss, speak little ill of Noble.
"You wake up in the middle of the night and somebody out there messing with you stuff. He probably got scared. I just don't know what he was thinking. The girls shouldn't have been there. That's all I can say about that I hate that they did it and I apologize for my daughter being a part of that," said Ever Morgan, Garrett's mother.
THV 11 spoke with Noble's cousin, and although he did not want to do an on-camera interview he said the entire family is in shock about the shooting.
Friends and family will honor Broadway in a vigil set for Friday at 4 p.m. at the McClellan High School football stadium.
