LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Republican congressman Tom Cotton has officially entered the race for a U.S. Senate seat in Arkansas.

Cotton filed paperwork Monday to make official his bid challenging Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor this year. Cotton, who represents south Arkansas' 4th Congressional District, is the only announced Republican running for Pryor's seat.

Cotton told reporters he feels good about his campaign and said he believes voters are ready for a new direction in Washington.
