MEMPHIS, Tenn. (KROGER) --The Delta Division of Kroger, which includes West Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Southern Missouri and Southwest Kentucky, has announced the launch of an exciting new price campaign.

Beginning June 26, Kroger's Delta Division will lower prices on thousands of items, including those in grocery, produce, organics, natural foods and general merchandise. This venture is a multi-million dollar investment for the company, and loyal Kroger customers will reap the benefits.

Since 2008, Kroger has been lowering prices in several categories, including packaged meat, produce, health and beauty care and other departments. This new program is an extension of that initiative.

Some examples of the new pricing include:
• Tide Liquid Laundry Detergent (48-64 use) is now $11.99, saving $3 from the previous price.
• Hi-C Juice Box (10 pack) is now $1.99, saving $0.70 from the previous price.
• GladWare deep dish set is now $2.69, saving $1.10 from the previous price.
• King Cotton smoked sausage (16-ounce package) is now $2.39, saving $0.90 from previous price.
• Yellow peaches are now $0.99 a pound, saving $0.60 from the previous price.

"Kroger has aimed to provide our customers with a completely rewarding shopping experience," said Joe Bell, manager of marketing and public affairs for Kroger Delta Division. "Price continues to be an important factor when customers are deciding where to shop. Now, our customers are going to save even more on the items that they buy every week. It will be an exciting time in our stores for our customers."

In addition to the price reductions on groceries and merchandise, Kroger will continue to offer weekly and everyday sales; the Fuel Program, through which customers can save up to $1.00 off a gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers; its $4 and $10 Prescription Program; weekly specials; and themed events. As a result of the new price campaign affecting thousands of products storewide, the company is also announcing the discontinuation of its double coupons program for manufacturer coupons. Double coupons will be accepted until July 10, 2013.
"After careful analysis, we have discovered that the shoppers in the Delta Division have really utilized cost-saving measures other than just manufacturer coupons -- such as downloadable clip-less coupons and customized direct mail coupons based on each shopper's preferences," Bell said. "We recognize this change might be an inconvenience for some shoppers who relied on the double coupons, but we feel lowering thousands of prices on everyday products will provide more value for all customers."

Bell added that Kroger has found that more and more of its customers are accessing store promotions and coupons from the company's digital apps versus using traditional print coupons. This promotion was built to suit customer demand and preferences. Kroger's Delta Division, based in Memphis, Tenn., currently operates 115 stores and 70 fuel centers in five states under the Kroger banner in Memphis and West Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Southern Missouri and Southwest Kentucky. Last year, Kroger's Delta Division contributed more than $3.5 million to the local communities it serves. Kroger focuses its charitable efforts on hunger relief, education and women's health issues.
