LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The deadline to enroll in a healthcare plan is quickly approaching.

The surgeon general recently announced an informational video on enrollment, and Friday, volunteers gathered on the capitol steps to educate Arkansans on benefits of a healthcare plan and to help with the enrollment process.

"I came in, and I enrolled, and it took me maybe 15 minutes. I waited, and I got to pick a plan the same day," explained Shanice Hood, showing other how easy the process is. "This is important. Especially if you don't have health care. I didn't have health care, and I enrolled the day they came to my school, and it has changed my life since then."

If you haven't signed up for healthcare, the deadline is March 31. Anyone who does not enroll by that date is subject to a fine on next year's taxes.
