LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Former NICU patients of UAMS gathered for a reunion in Little Rock along with the people who nursed them back to health.
The gathering served to not only allow the doctors and nurses to see these kids again, but also give the families to catch up with each other.
"We have anything from 26 weekers, 23 weekers, all the way up to almost term, and these kids have a hard start. You'd be so amazed to see them when they're 6 months old, a year old, to see how well they do because they really are small, little individuals when they get here," explained NICU Nurse Diane Rushing.
The NICU at UAMS sees more than 1,500 babies every year.
