GARLAND COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Deputies say a Garland County man was arrested after a physical disturbance report was made.

According to the report, a woman says her husband, Robert Gray, had been drinking when the two got into an argument. She says she was trying to leave with her sister and brother-in-law, but her husband wouldn't allow it.

Deputies say the brother-in-law told them that while he was trying to help, Gray got physical with him.

Deputies located Gray, who was unsteady on his feet with bloodshot watery eyes. They say he also smelled of alcohol and was extremely evasive when asked what happened.

According to the report, Gray pushed a deputy and attempted to hit him, until he was eventually overpowered and cuffed. While deputies were taking him down, Gray squeezed the right bicep of the same deputy he attempted to hit and caused a sharp pain.

After Gray was in custody, the deputy still felt pain on his bicep. He rolled up his sleeve to find a large bruise with broken skin in the center. Another deputy photographed the bruise with his cell phone.

Gray is charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and third degree battery.
