LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A police dispatch for a reckless driver ends with a fatal car wreck, involving four vehicles along Highway 10 in West Little Rock Wednesday.

The accident brought traffic to a stand-still right near Little Rock Christian Academy. We can tell our viewers that no students from Little Rock Christian Academy were involved in this accident. A school official told us that it happened about 45 minutes before pick-up time.

Little Rock Police confirm one person died in the wreck and another had life-threatening injuries leaving the scene.

"Oh I knew it had to be awful, something dreadful had happened," Mary Finch said.

This is what Mary Finch came home to Wednesday afternoon after a trip for some errands.

"There were police cars on both sides of the road, blue lights, I couldn't count the police cars," Mary Finch said.

It was a lot to take in near her home off Highway 10 in West Little Rock, the scene of a fatal car wreck involving four vehicles, six people and traffic crawling mid-afternoon.

"Our dispatchers did put out a reckless driving broadcast in reference to a black vehicle with Nevada plates," Sgt. Cassandra Davis said.

Sgt. Davis says police are still investigating if reckless driving was the cause here but police did take the driver of that black car into custody. Davis says initial reports show that driver triggering the accident by hittinga Buick head-on.

"We do have a male in the Buick that does have some serious, life-threatening injuries," Sgt. Davis said. "The driver of the Honda that was driving westbound did die as a result of his injuries from the accident."

We also know that only two of the cars had passengers, twoall together, and they weretaken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Back with Finch, she stayed clear of the accident but with the victims still on her mind.

"I just hope that they're alive," Finch said.

Now again, one of the victim's unfortunately did not make it. We don't know the identity of that person yet or of any of the others involved. Police say it could be a few days before the accident report comes out since authorities are still putting the pieces together. Sgt. Davis also told us that no charges have beenfiled in this case at this point. We'll keep you posted on any new developments.
