The U.S. release date for the movie, Devil's Knot, was announced this week. The movie's facebook page stated Tuesday night that the movie, which is based on the true story of three Arkansas boys being brutally murdered, will release in the United States May 9, 2014.

The movie, starring Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth, focuses on the deaths of Stevie Branch, Christopher Byers, and Michael Moore of West Memphis in 1993. Soon after the murders, focus shifted to three suspects in the case - Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley, and Jason Baldwin - who were convicted and sentenced in the murders. After much controversy in the case, the men were released from prison 18 years later.
