LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – It might still be chilly outside, but with a firepit, you will still be warm and toasty.

While fireplaces keep people warm and provide a focal point, their heat does not reach very far. People sitting farther away from it will still be cold.

What I do at my own house is I have some heat lamps that I put in the back of the sitting area so that peoples' backs are also warm. They may not be in front of the fire but they still have the view of the fire.

What about a fire pit? You can spend a couple thousand dollars installing a built in fireplace, but then its permanent.

You can create a temporary fire pit by just taking this galvanized metal bucket that you can buy at any hardware store. Stack some firewood in it, and place some chairs around it and you have yourself one awesome warm fire.

When the season is over, all you have to do is clean it out, pack it up and get rid of it or maybe plant it, or even use it as a fish pond.
