LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AFFM) -- Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial 24/7 Fire Safety Program, today announced it has received $5,000 as part of the Motorola Solutions Foundation's Public Safety and Security Institute. The Motorola Solutions Foundation is the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, Inc. Through the grant, the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial 24/7 Fire Safety Program will complete the fire education amphitheater and continue efforts to educate the public on fire safety.
The Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial 24/7 Fire Safety Program, which started in 2012, has been funded with grants from The Motorola Solutions Foundation. Through the grants, The Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial 24/7 Fire Safety Program has purchased radio air time on multiple stations. These commercials have provided information on the importance of maintaining a working smoke detector, space heater safety, cooking safety, and child fire safety. The Arkansas Fallen Firefighters' Memorial is dedicated to honoring firefighters who have died in the line of duty and providing a permanent reminder of their sacrifice. The formal dedication ceremony of the Memorial is March 22, 2014 at 1pm.
The Motorola Solutions Foundation Grants support safety education and training programs for first responders, their families and the general public in the United States and Canada.
