WHITE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) – Someone dumped nine dogs along a White County road, and authorities say it happens all too often.

A nearby homeowner in Judsonia who has been taking care of them says he doesn't have the money to do it any longer.

Animals have always been a part of Darrell Cleveland's life.

"Winter was coming on, and I was worried about feeding them," he said, recalling when they arrived.

He's been taking care of them for six months, and said they just finished all the food he had left.

"I can't feed them. …I can't see them starve to death."

Cleveland said he's tried to give them away, and has contacted the White County Sheriff's Office and several humane societies, but no one has been able to help him.

"I don't know what to do with them."

If you're interested in giving one of these dogs a home, you can call (501) 940-5816 for information.
