CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) – Lori Martin's doctors feared the worst when she was brought to the emergency room after being shot 6 times at point blank range, but two months later she's already walking again.
"I couldn't believe I was still here. It was a miracle," Martin recalled. "I was actually looking at a magazine and all of a sudden I heard a shot fired and I turned to Adam and said, 'I think I've been hit.' That's all I remember."
Martin was shot while standing in the checkout line at a Conway Walmart February 1st. Myron Terrell was arrested and charged with attempted capitol murder. Police still don't know why Martin was targeted and she tells THV she didn't know the suspect before the shooting. "Our faith is better than his will," said Martin's husband Adam. "We're going to be there to see justice served throughout this."
Martin is now able to walk with a cane and is scheduled to have two of the bullets removed later this month. "God put me here for a purpose," she added. "I want to be back here to the fullest and I will be."
