VILONIA, Ark. (KTHV) – On Thursday, we are learning more about the unsung heroes in Sunday's storm. Some of them are just barely out of high school.

In midst of the storm, a 19-year-old young man rushed ten veterans to safety just minutes before the tornado rushed through Vilonia.

"Over thirty years ago my grandparents started this."

Taking care of veterans came easy for Christian Gunter. He was actually born into it.

So when a tornado threatened Vilonia, the 19-year-old jumped to protection mode and helped ten Arkansas veterans.

Gunter put his life on the line for the men who sacrificed theirs, but he's not calling himself a hero.

"Really it's just what anyone would do in that situation. We love our guys here and see them as family and we just take care of family," said Gunter.
