LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The animals had a big and blessed day Sunday during the annual Blessing of the Animals service at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Little Rock.

The service provided a chance to bring beloved pets and other animals to church and acknowledge how important they are in our lives. Reverend Jennie Barrington said these gatherings always bring a unique crowd to the pews.

"I got to meet a lot of dogs and some chickens and some other birds here today. And, some brought a stuffed animal toy animal symbolically. I did not see any cats and that was disappointing to me because I love cats," Barrington said.

Reverend Barrington said she is sure she will see some cats next year.
