FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Exxon Mobile was spreading their support Thursday by making a donation to the Red Cross.
After visiting areas hit hard by the storm, ExxonMobil traveled to Little Rock to commend the Red Cross for their disaster relief efforts. ExxonMobil Pipeline Vice President and Operations Manager Karen Tyrone complemented Red Cross volunteers and also gave the organization a check for $125,000.
"We at ExxonMobil are pleased to be able to work with a nationally renowned disaster relief organization and especially the one that is meeting a critical need in this community now." said Tyrone.
This isn't the only $125,000 donation ExxonMobil has made to relieve disaster recovery efforts. The company also donated $125,000 to the Faulkner County Disaster Recovery Fund, established by Arkansas Community Foundation. That story can be read here: http://on.kthv.com/1m33pJJ
Russ Webb from the Mayflower Chamber of Commerce said Exxon has been a big help since the tornado ripped through the small town by handing out $1,000 in gas money, donating storage building space for save items from survivors, making cash and material donations, distributing supplies, and providing two trac-hoes on barges and helping the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission AGFC clean debris out of the lake.
